The Cruncher’s “Go Surfin’ With The Cruncher” LP was a landmark release in the surf music revival of the 1980s. It’s an all-instro/all covers LP where The Cruncher played 60’s surf classics as “Baja”, “Movin” , “El Aquila” (originally by The Astronauts), Bobby Fullers “My Favourite Martian”, Dick Dale´s “Surf Beat” & “Taco Wago”, Super Stock’s “Wheel Stands” & “Oceanside” and The Pyramids’ “Penetration”. Old beach favorites are taken for another whip through the foam by these West Germany surfers, and even though you have heard them many times before you´ll be happy to renew their acquaintanceship for these are strong full-bodied versions that hold their own in comparison with the originals.
