Well… hmm… Ok! You probably know this guy from Blood, Sweat & [Shit] Tears, but hey don’t you fret, don’t look away. Here’s s Surfadelic collection of this Canuck singer’s real cool garage/r&b stuff from ’65/’66 albums ”Shays A-Go-Go” & ”Sings Like It Is!” with The Shays [known for ‘Brainwashed’ from The Essential Pebbles Collection]. Some tunes like ”Take Me Back”, ”Want You I Don’t” or ”Brainwashed” are true-bred 60’s garage while others are fine r&b tinged fuzzed-out originals and covers as “Howlin’ (For My Darlin’)”, “Boom Boom”, “Done Somebody Wrong”… This stuff somehow reminds me on Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels. 13 trax of garage driven R&B rock, with plenty of cool fuzz guitar breaks all over the place. Now ya know, check some favs’n’ Dig!!!
