Garage-pop band formed in 1965, New Colony Six scored their first major local hit in Chicago with “I Confess” (WLS #2 on 4 February 1966), featured on their debut album, “Breakthrough”. Their sound was characterized by as “a poppier American Them with their prominent organ, wobbly Lesley-fied guitar amplifications, and rave-up tempos”.
This is 14 trax compilation LP issued in 1993. on Sundazed rec.
Side A songs are from their ’66 debut “Breakthrough” (that shares a cover similarity with this release) in mono. Side B has two non-album single sides “Cadillac” and “Sunshine” and five cuts from their ’67 album “Colonization”, all in stereo.
