THE GO-GO’S – Swim With The Go-Go’s [1964]

“Watch me swim on by, look a shark in the eye,
stay on the bottom till the tank runs dry,
underwater, swimming underwater.”
One of the many Gary Usher’s studio projects of hot rod/surf 60’s craze [you could hear ’em on “Hot Rod U.S.A” compilation. This vocal crew rare sole Lp is kinda not so great but nonetheless pretty interesting and will appeal to Beach Boys/Hondells fans.
Expert advice: you should better start with B-side from Underwater… ’cause A-side is pretty weak [except for Lonely Girl and Goodbye Winter]. Anyways, do whatcha wanna do but… Do the Malibu!

  1. Hahah ! I interviewed one of the band for a now-defunct surf music website (Pipeline) I used to run. They were also The Munsters touring band at the same time !
Good to see this getting a reappraisal !!
