THE DAVE MYERS EFFECT – Greatest Racing Themes [1966]

.
Southern Californian multi-instrumentalist Dave Myers’ [famed for The Surftones’ Del-Fi album, Hangin’ Twenty] ’66 hot rod studio project on GNP Crescendo records. Fuzz guitars, acid organs & special racing effects sometimes remind on Davie Allan stuff. Mike Curb liner notes on the back cover suggest some connections.

.

Lp includes “Silent Screamers” TV soundtrack of “Des Autos et des Hommes” and hits like “Speed international” [from the MGM-film Grand Prix directed by John Frankenheimer and starring James Garner, Eva Maria Saint and Yves Montand] and “Hell Racers” It’s a REAL COOL & pretty RARE Hot Rod/Lounge instro slab in Spectacular Surfadelic Stereo… TOP INSTRO STUFF, Dig!!!
